Our Work

FEMJUSTICE focuses on preventive and practical legal empowerment. We equip adolescent girls and women with the knowledge, confidence, and economic capacity needed to assert their rights and sustain themselves while navigating justice and protection systems.
Why We Exist
Slogan

How We Work/Methodology
FEMJUSTICE is community-rooted and participatory. The women and girls we serve actively shape program priorities, content, and advocacy agendas. As a membership-based organization, we also cultivate a growing network of young people committed to gender justice, legal empowerment, and social change.
We operate through satellite offices in Mbale, Nakapiripirit, and Kampala, with its headquarters in Kampala, enabling localized, context-responsive engagement tailored to the distinct realities of the communities we serve.
Our approach has three core pillars
1. Legal empowerment and navigation
We make the law simple, practical and accessible for adolescent girls and women, enabling them to understand their rights, make informed decisions, and navigate legal, administrative, and protection systems when violations occur. We emphasize self-advocacy, confidence-building, and early intervention.
- Economic empowerment for independence
Recognizing economic dependency as a major barrier to justice, we equip girls and women with practical skills, resources, and mentorship to build sustainable livelihoods. This includes vocational and digital skills training, enterprise mentorship, and linkages to opportunities that reduce vulnerability and reliance on perpetrators or exploitative relationships.
- Voice, visibility, and advocacy
We amplify the voices and experiences of girls and women through community dialogues, conferences, digital platforms, and stakeholder engagements. This advocacy is grounded in lived realities from our legal empowerment work and aims to influence systems, not just individual outcomes.
